The wrestler on the cover of WWE 2K26 is CM Punk, and that means that this superstar is the protagonist of 2K Showcase, a game mode that allows you to relive the most important moments of your career. It is «a very personal journey, mixing real career milestones with alternate story twists and fantasy combat of the type,» the official literature says. In this mode there are also what-if situations. and the option to go directly for the rewards by facing all the Showcase rivals one after another.
CM Punk will be accompanied by a squad with more than 400 fighters who make up the roster biggest in franchise history. On the list we have current superstars from RAW, SmackDown and NXT, as well as legends and members of the WWE Hall of Fame.
At the gameplay level, the main novelty are four new types of combat: Dumpster Match, I Quit Match, Three Stages of Hell and Inferno Match. Dumpster Match is a no-disqualification match in which one competitor must throw his opponent into a dumpster and close the lid before he can escape; I Quit Match is a match where the first fighter to get his opponent to verbally surrender wins; Three Stages of Hell challenges you to participate in up to three consecutive battles; and Inferno Match surrounds the ring with a wall of fire that burns higher as opponents hit the mat.
WWE 2K6 also features intergender combat in major game modes, new usable offensive items, and larger interactive environments. In addition, the Reversals and Stamina system has been renewed and physical interactions improved.
WWE 2K26's post-launch support largely involves the so-called Ringside Pass, which offers 120 rewards spread across 40 free tiers and 40 premium tiers. The premium version of the pass replaces the previous additional content model and is responsible for delivering additional playable characters.
