Activision and Bandai Namco have agreed that today is the day of looking back. The Microsoft subsidiary has launched Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, while the Japanese editor puts for sale Patapon 1 + 2 Replay, a collection that recovers the PSP saga to take it to new platforms, including PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam in exchange for 29.99 euros. Despite editing Bandai Namco, Patapon is still a property of Sony.

Patapon 1+2 Replay brings together and remastens the two deliveries of this saga of rhythmic action and adventure games, and does so without presenting great differences with respect to the originals. The artistic style is maintained, just like the soundtrack and playability. This means that we are faced with a game that mixes the action based on the rhythm with real -time strategy in a 2D environment. The graphic section looks a little better with respect to PSP titles launched in 2007 and 2008, there are improvements in quality of life and three difficulty configurations have been introduced as well as the option to adjust the times of the pulsations.

Those who do not know Patapon should know that in this title the role of a supreme being who is the head of guiding the Patapons, a tribe of single -eye creatures that live in a remote corner of the planet, towards the confine of the earth, is exercised. To achieve this you have to lead the march of the Patapons playing rhythms with four drums: Pata, Pon, Don and Chaka. Combining the four drums, the Patapons are told everything they have to do (attack, protect, jump, advance …). It is easy to start, but synchronization and tactical thinking are requirements to find success.

In addition, we must bear in mind that all Patapons have unique characteristics and classes. For example, Hatapon stays in the center of the squad and shakes a flag to lead his allies, Tatepon protects others with his shield and Yumipon attacks throwing arrows. The task of each Patapon during combat changes according to their class, which allows players to create a personalized and balanced army. To all this we must add more than 400 weapons and equipment to improve or update to the Patapons.

Who instead of returning to the past wants a current proposal should know that we have on its way to Ratatan, an action game roguelike rhythmic developed by the creators of Patapon. The title was going to be available through Steam's early access on July 25, but it has been delayed and does not have a new release date.
