Within the framework of the presentation of its latest financial results, Paradox Interactive has announced the signing of a binding agreement to buy all the actions of the Haemimont Games development team. Once the acquisition is completed whose amount has not transcended, the study will become a subsidiary owned by the Swedish company, but maintaining its equipment and direction.

Paradox Interactive explains that the purchase of Haemimont Games «is one more step» in its strategy focused on management games. Fredrik Wester, executive director of Paradox Interactive, says that Haemimont Games is a team with a long experience in the management games and whose catalog includes titles that have been very well received. The Executive also emphasizes that we are faced with a creative study and with its own technology (the graphic engine). In addition, Wester has revealed that Haemimont Games has a new intellectual property that will be presented later.

On the part of Haemimont Games, its founder Gabriel Dobrev has been happy to become part of Paradox Interactive. Dobrev ensures that this association increases its ambition and opens new horizons for its team, technology and creative processes.

The Haemimont Games Games catalog fits that of Paradox, a company specialized in management, simulation and strategy games. This study based on Sofia, Bulgaria, began developing real -time strategy titles including Tzar: The Burden of the Crown and Celtic Kings, but soon added elements of city building to his jobs to give life to games like Imperium Romanum. Over the years he left aside the strategy to focus on the construction of cities, and the result was Tropic 3, 4 and 5. Later he surprised with Victor Vran, an RPG of isometric action very well valued and a rarity in his portfolio.

The latest works by Haemimont Games are Survival Mars and Strand: Alien Dawn, two management games, cities and simulation construction, and Jagged Alliance 3, a turn -off title in turn.

Haemimont Games has proven to be a good study when developing action RPGS or shift games, but under the paradox interactive umbrella it seems that it will completely embrace those of management and simulation. With this movement the Swedish company will not only add its ranks to a study with a remarkable catalog, but will also use a set of tools that could come very well to develop city builders And so not to repeat fiascos such as those of Cities: Skylines II, which makes use of the Unity engine.
