Activision has announced that the mobile game free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile stops receiving content and updates, and from May 18 it will not be possible to download it from Google Play and the App Store. Who has installed the title before May 19 will be able to continue playing until further notice. The company decides to leave the game a year after its launch because it has not reached expectations.

«Thank you for the dedication and passion you have demonstrated by Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile,» says Activision in a statement. «We are going to reduce the scope of the game and we will stop adding new season content and game updates. From this moment, you can no longer spend real money on the game. You can still use the COD points that you have not spent to acquire content in the game store. On Sunday, May 18, 2025, it will be the last day in which you can download the game on Google Play and in the Apple App Store, and the social features will be removed Mobile «.

«It is a decision that we have made after considering it carefully, and although we are very proud to have managed to bring Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile devices in a very genuine way, the experience centered on mobile players has failed to meet our expectations, unlike the PC and console players version,» adds the company owned by Microsoft.

Activision comments that «there will be no returns» for the previously acquired content or for the COD without spending points. Although the company does not mention it, any refund is subject to the policies of the stores in which the contents have been acquired.

Who wants to continue playing Call of Duty on Mobile has the option of doing so in Call of Duty: Mobile, who from May 15 to August 15, 2025 will offer the logs with their Activision account with COD points that can be redeemed in this game. «The amount of COD points received will be twice the balance you have in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile,» says the company. The activation account must be the same in both titles.

Call of Duty: Mobile is a game developed internally by Activision in which the Legends Digital Barcelona team has participated, while Call of Duty: Mobile is in the hands of Timi Studios, is Tencent's responsibility and has been active since 2019.
