Paradox Interactive has announced that Loose Cannon, the first of two additional content that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will receive, is now available. This add-on is shipped individually for 14.99 euros and is included in the Expansion Pass along with the Santa Monica Memories cosmetic package and The Flower & the Flame content (which will arrive between July and September) in exchange for 34.99 euros. This second expansion will star Ysabella Moore.

Loose Cannon offers an unprecedented story from a new perspective. In the base game Bloodlines 2 players step into the shoes of Phyre, an ancient vampire awakened at odds with the voice in her head, while in this additional content the protagonist is Benny Muldoon (Brujah), a Seattle lawman, the Sheriff of a divided Camarilla Court and the enforcement arm of Prince Campbell. «Ruthless, volatile and convinced that strength is everything, Benny delivers justice with lead and punches,» says the official description of this additional content.

The Loose Cannon campaign is self-contained and includes four missions, the events of which span from shortly after Phyre’s encounter with Benny Muldoon during the mission In Chains of Lead and Gold to their reunion in A Star of Cold Aspect. This is a story that adds context to the main campaign by offering the option to step into the shoes of Benny Muldoon before the Nomad legend arrived in Seattle. «Find out what he knew, why he behaved the way he did, and how his decisions affected the city, adding more context to the main campaign,» explains The Chinese Room development team.

Benny Muldoon is Brujah, but with more savage combat-oriented mechanics, so even those who have played with this clan will see the differences. The abilities of the Brujah version of Phyre have been replaced by Benny’s own, creating a Brujah style that enhances firearms and melee capabilities. The goal is to reflect Benny’s unyielding and violent nature. It is a style of combat in which intimidation and brute force dominate, and where the 9 mm pistol modified to be automatic, with a high-capacity magazine and a compensator, plays a key role.

The Loose Cannon content arrives accompanied by an update, the largest that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has received to date, with quality of life improvements that players have requested and an overhaul of the melee combat system.
