Call of the Elder Gods is the sequel to Call of the Sea, a puzzle adventure with a strong narrative component. In this installment, players step into the shoes of Harry Everhart, a professor who «tries to ignore the shadows that creep in the corners of his vision,» and student Evangeline Drayton, who lives tormented by «impossible dreams about an artifact found a decade ago.» Together they will travel from New England to the Australian desert, passing through the Arctic and the ancient city of Pnakotus, to investigate a series of disappearances and find answers to ancient mysteries.
Throughout their quest, Harry and Evangeline will solve puzzles of objects and observation that promise to be deeper than those present in Call of the Sea. For example, the possibility of alternating between the two protagonists opens the door to solving problems through time and space. Anyone who wants to customize the difficulty of their experience will have the option to use hints, icons, and journal entries that can be turned on or off. The soundtrack that will accompany players throughout this adventure is signed by composer Eduardo de la Iglesia (American Arcadia).
Despite being a sequel, to play Call of the Elder Gods it is not necessary to have completed Call of the Sea, but whoever has done so will discover connections and details.
Like Call of the Sea (and as indicated by the presence of the city of Pnakotus), Call of the Elder Gods is a game imbued with the work of HP Lovecraft. Specifically, the title finds inspiration in the cosmic horror novel In the Night of Time. «Call of the Elder Gods presents a fully told story about grief, family and sanity,» adds Out of the Blue Games. Anyone who is not satisfied with the trailer that served to announce the release date will find a demo on Steam that includes the prologue and the first level. Progress from the demo will be transferable to the full game.
