Xenoblade Chronicles 2 improvements for Nintendo Switch 2 start with 4K resolution and optimized performance at 60 FPS in TV mode. If playing in portable mode, the resolution drops to 1080p, but 60 frames per second are maintained. Nintendo says the Alrest lands look better and the cutscenes are sharper and smoother. On the other hand, you can unlock a new look for Pyra and Mythra, the campaign’s corporagonists, which they can wear both during the adventure and in the cinematics.
At the content level, Nintendo Switch 2 players will have access to the new Merc Assault mode. This gaming experience allows you to choose up to six Blades to fight throughout missions, in which you directly control the Blades and can switch between them at any time. One of the key mechanics is the Specials gauge, which fills with attacks. When the bar is full, the option to execute a special arte will open which, when launched at the right time, can tilt the combat in the player’s favor.
Blade’s catalog will be expanded with the «unusual» Momo. This Blade has two modes and can be switched between them to change its appearance (imaginary or real), as well as its elemental affinity (light and shadow).
Nintendo Switch 2 players will be able to purchase the native version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in digital (July 30) and physical (October 1) formats for 69.99 euros. If you have a copy of the game for Nintendo Switch, there will be the option to purchase an upgrade package in exchange for 9.99 euros.
