Warner Bros. Games has limited itself to confirming that the new installment of Hogwarts Legacy is in production, so the first details about the story or new features in the gameplay will have to wait for a formal announcement. The company has mentioned that the sequel to the game developed by Avalanche Software is a «high priority» for the heads of Warner Bros. Discovery. Until last month Hogwarts Legacy had managed to sell 30 million copies, so it is not surprising that the management of the American conglomerate prioritizes resources for the second installment.
David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, says Warner Bros. Games is coordinating narratively with HBO, which is currently working on a Harry Potter series. The executive assures that the success of Hogwarts Legacy contributed to reinforcing confidence that the time had come to give a big boost to the Harry Potter franchise. Details about how the Hogwarts Legacy sequel and HBO's Harry Potter series will interact are currently a mystery. We know almost as little about the series as the game. There is only one teaser and the promise of offering a faithful adaptation of JK Rowling's books.
The boost that Hogwarts Legacy has given to the Harry Potter games has already been noticeable. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions went on sale in September, while the remastered Lego Harry Potter Collection will arrive this week on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam. This compilation includes Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, two titles that completely review the story, with improved graphics. And if anyone wants more Wizarding World, on November 15 the Harry Potter: The Baking Wizards cooking contest presented by the Phelps brothers comes to Max.
