Vantage Studios, a Ubisoft subsidiary owned by Tencent, has announced the formation of a new team to lead the future of Assassin's Creed. The company has opted for three veterans of the franchise who have coincided in two installments: Black Flag and Origins. Those responsible for driving the long-term vision, creative ambition and growth of Assassin's Creed are: Martin Schelling, Jean Guesdon and François de Billy.

Martin Schelling has been named director of the Assassins Creed brand, a role that makes him responsible for the overall strategy and long-term vision of the franchise. Schelling has been working at Ubisoft for more than 20 years. He began producing production duties on Prince of Persia installments such as Warrior Within (2004), The Two Thrones (2005) and The Forgotten Sands (2010), and later rose to producer on Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (2013) and Assassin's Creed Revelations (2011). He was also the senior producer of Assassin's Creed Origins (2017) and Assassin's Creed Valhalla (2020). During the last year he has served as production manager.

Jean Guesdon is the head of content for Assassin's Creed, responsible for creative direction and responsible for guiding the future of the franchise. Guesdon has been working on Assassin's Creed projects since the first installment, and in one way or another has participated in practically all the games in the saga except for Valhalla (2020) and Shadows (2025). The titles in which he has been most involved have been Black Flag and Origins, where he served as creative director. After the launch of Origins he worked on an unannounced game and in 2023 he left Ubisoft for Behavior Interactive (Dead by Daylight), but returned a year later.

The triumvirate is completed by François de Billy, who will ensure that everything is executed as planned. We are looking at another Ubisoft veteran who has worked in production at the French company for 20 years. For example, he has worked as production director for Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and for the past few years has held the role of global senior production director.

Martin Schelling, Jean Guesdon and François de Billy have in their hands what is undoubtedly Ubisoft's most important intellectual property. Assassin's Creed has gone through better and worse times, but for nearly 20 years it has been Ubisoft's star franchise and all of its main installments have managed to sell several million units. Looking at the resume of the three top people responsible for Assassin's Creed, it seems that those who have Black Flag and Origins among their favorites can claim victory.

Last week Yves Guillemot, co-founder and CEO of Ubisoft, said the company had several Assassin's Creed installments in the works, including single-player and multiplayer experiences.
