Among the main new features of the update we find a complete renewal of the Landsraad, the political system through which players align themselves with the Great Houses (Atreides, Harkonnen…), complete weekly missions and take sides in decrees that have effects on the entire server. With the update, the Landsraad will add new ways to earn rewards, whether playing alone or in a group, introduce repeatable quests, and offer more incentives to increase participation.
Additionally, Action Ranks will feature new contracts, rewards, quests, and expanded rank/position progression, while a new Specializations system will allow you to choose between crafting, gathering, exploration, combat, and sabotage while leveling up your preferred playstyle. Also on the way are five new map locations with new challenges, five new repeatable experimental stations, a new augment progression to further improve builds endgame and a continuation of the story after Chapter 2.
«We know players want a richer experience when they reach the end of the game's main story, and this update sets the stage for what's to come,» says Joel Bylos, creative director of Dune: Awakening. «Our goal is to give users more options than ever when they finish the game's main story.»
Regarding the Raiders of the Broken Lands paid content, «it also aims to respond to one of the biggest requests from players,» which according to Funcom is more things to build with. To achieve this goal, the add-on is focused on smugglers and includes 74 building elements, 17 decorations, 3 armor sets, 2 armor variants, a thief's all-terrain skin, and emotes and scraps. This content is part of the season pass, which has yet to deliver a third and final content called The Water Wars throughout 2026.
Dune: Awakening is available on PC through Steam. The versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series are still in development.
