The news of the week has been marked by The Game Awards 2024, a gala that celebrated its tenth edition. Titles such as The Witcher IV, Elden Ring: Nightreign, Split Fiction, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Screamer, Dispatch and sequels to Onimusha and Okami were announced during the event. Additionally, Naughty Dog unveiled its new intellectual property, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. while The Outer Worlds 2 and Borderlands 4 showed us for the first time their gameplay. For PC players there is a date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (January 23) and The Last of Us Part II Remastered (April 3).

On the list of releases we have Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, and looking forward to 2025, The Talos Principle: Reawakened awaits us. On the other hand, we have talked about the push that Path of Exile 2 and Marvel Rivals have given Steam to break a new record for simultaneous players, while Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has announced that it will end its support when the current season ends.

In technology, Google has been the protagonist with the presentation of Gemini 2.0, a new AI model «for the era of agents», and Project Moohan, a viewer for the Android XR extended reality platform developed together with Samsung. We don't leave Google to talk about YouTube and its AI dubbing. In another vein, LG has said goodbye to the production of Blu-ray players, and an alliance between Epic Games Store and Telefónica will bring the Epic Games Store to the operator's Android mobile phones. Finally, OpenAI has launched Sora, a video generation model that is currently available to its subscribers.

  • Virtua Fighter 5 REVO begins open beta and will be available on Steam on January 28, 2025.

  • Fortnite introduces Ballistic, a competitive 5v5 first-person tactical shooter.
  • Michel Ancel says the tortuous development of Beyond Good & Evil 2 is due to conflicts between the directors.
  • Lego Fortnite adds a social role-playing experience with Brick Life.
  • Atomic Heart previews the Enchantment Under the Sea content, which will be available on January 28, 2025.
  • The Talos Principle: Reawakened announced, a version with improvements and a new chapter.
  • Season 4 of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the last and comes with Deathstroke and an offline mode.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is updated with a new map, enemy and support for PS5 Pro.
  • OMEGA 6: The Triangle Stars will arrive in the West on February 28, 2025.
