Miary Zo is a completely new character in the Tekken 8 franchise. We are faced with a young fighter born in Madagascar who practices moraingy, a type of traditional fighting of the Sakalava people who have inhabited the aforementioned island in the Indian Ocean for several centuries. He also makes use of other African martial arts to complete his moveset and combos. Moraingy, also known as Malagasy boxing, is a martial art with several centuries of history where punches predominate over kicks, while defense is usually based on guards and lateral movements.
As Katsuhiro Harada explained last summerhead of the Tekken franchise, to give life to Miary Zo, the development team and himself spent a few days in Madagascar visiting cities, villages and ruins to soak up the country's cultural heritage. Additionally, they collaborated with the local community to ensure that Miary Zo was a good representative of the island and its culture. In the trailer below you can see a first sample of the gameplay of this new fighter.
The two lemurs have names. Their names are Vanilla and Cacao and they are father and son.
On the other hand, those interested in Armor King will have access to this character next week. Unlike Miary Zo, Armor King is a veteran of the Tekken franchise whose first appearance dates back to Tekken (1994), just like his friend King. However, it should be noted that the Armor King we know from the events of Tekken 5 is not the same as the original, who was killed by Craig Marduk. Since then, the one who wears his jaguar mask is his younger brother, who has made it his goal to avenge his death.
When Miary Zo is available in December, Tekken 8 Season Pass 2 will have completed its content. Anna Williams and Fahkumram arrived before these two fighters. Bandai Namco has not revealed if it is working on a third pass, but if we take into account that Tekken 7 adds four season passes, it is very likely that Tekken 8 will continue to receive support. Furthermore, it seems that fighting games are experiencing a good time.
