When Tekken 8 reached stores in January 2024 with versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC it took less than a month to sell 2 million units. A year later the fighting game reaches 3 million copies, an achievement that according to Bandai Namco has registered faster than its predecessor Tekken 7 (2017), which to date has managed to place more than 12 million units. In comparison, Street Fighter 6 accumulates 4.4 million copies, but was put on sale in June 2023, half a year before Tekken 8. In addition, the Capcom game has version for PlayStation 4.
In total, the Tekken saga is close to exceeding 60 million copies sold, while Street Fighter adds 56 million.
The arrival of Anna Williams to Tekken 8 should not surprise those who paid attention to the trailer released a couple of months ago that served to announce the winter update and the second season.
