Valve has also announced the arrival of new features on Steam that improve and facilitate the experience of gifting and sending both digital gift cards and games. For starters, Guest Checkout, which allows a family member or friend to purchase a gift without creating a Steam account, can be used to purchase any game on Steam. Until now it was limited to digital gift cards and hardware. For example, you can share a wish list for a friend or family member to purchase a game.
Another new feature is the possibility of sending both digital gift cards and games directly by email. The message will include a link that will allow the recipient to log into their Steam account and accept the gift. Please note that any gift sent by email that is not accepted within 30 days will be automatically refunded, so delivery cannot be scheduled for a future date. Additionally, the recipient must live in the same country as the buyer.
Valve has also added the ability to directly gift a game to a friend in a different region. This is because the company now calculates the cost in your region during the checkout process.
