The launch of Star Wars Outlaws did not meet Ubisoft's or players' expectations, so the French publisher committed to improving the game. The turning point of this path of redemption is (or should) be today for three reasons: the additional Wild Card content that expands the campaign is available; An update has been released that, among other new features, eliminates mission objectives related to stealth; and the title is for sale on Steam.

We start with Wild Card, a «narrative expansion» that will allow players to continue exploring the world of Star Wars Outlaws. This new content is available after completing the Gunsmith and The High Roller missions from the base game and to start Wild Card you must interact with the Wakehunter holotable. In this mission Kay Vess will be hired to infiltrate a sabacc tournament, «but when she crosses paths with the famous player Lando Calrissian she realizes that there is more than a game at stake,» says the official synopsis.

Wild Card is available to owners of the Star Wars Outlaws season pass, the same one that in spring 2025 will give access to the second story pack called A Pirate's Fortune. The season pass costs 39.99 euros.

Secondly we have update 1.4.0 which introduces important changes to stealth and combat to offer more flexibility. When Star Wars Outlaws was released, many players expressed frustration because some missions required stealth play, and being detected by enemies meant failure. Ultimately, the game's detection mechanics were unpredictable and inconsistent. These situations are over and Kay Vess can now use stealth or wield her blaster even in syndicate territory in cities.

The update also improves artificial intelligence and adds weak points to enemies to reward strategic play. Additionally, weapons have been adjusted and facial expressions and animations in dialogue scenes have been improved.

Regarding the launch of Star Wars Outlaws on Steam, nothing more needs to be said. Ubisoft returns to the Valve fold and from now on all its games, starting with Assassin's Creed Shadows, will be available on Steam from day one.
