In the absence of a demo, well it is a generous footage. At least this is what publisher Focus Entertainment and development team Asobo Studio think, who have released a gameplay of 7 minutes of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy to show those interested the gaming experience. The launch of the title for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Game Pass and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store is scheduled for August 27.

The campaign of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy takes place 15 years before the events narrated in Requiem and puts players in the shoes of Sophia, «a young and brave raider» who «runs away determined to discover the secrets of her past.» This installment set in the A Plague Tale universe presents a direct and visceral combat system that allows you to face groups of enemies in open spaces. Sophia is an agile character who will encourage players to master precise parries to chain together quick combos with the dagger and sword. The protagonist is also capable of dodging.

Sophia’s arsenal includes a versatile hook that can be used to use the environment to her advantage, attracting enemies or launching them into mortal danger.

The second part of gameplay Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy puts combat aside to focus on exploration and puzzles. Our heroine has to solve a riddle in a classic puzzle where you have to rotate crystals to direct light to a specific point in order to continue moving forward. Solving these types of challenges will be as important as emerging victorious from combat. During this trip Sophia is accompanied by her friend Leni, who helps during the fighting, and a book with clues.

As Sophia delves into the depths of Minotaur Island, she experiences memories of the ancient Minoan era, and realizes that the presence of Theseus resonates within her. In Greek mythology, Theseus is the founder of Athens and is known for his fight against the Minotaur. The character of Theseus not only opens a door to a different timeline, but the hero and king of Athens is also a playable character as can be seen in the final part of the trailer. In Sophia’s dream, Theseus appears fighting in an arena.
