The side-scrolling game Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf will be released on March 5 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam. It will also be part of the Game Pass catalog from day one. On February 11, a demo of the title developed by Wishfully will be available on all platforms except for Switch and Switch 2, whose players will have to wait a while to try the game on their system.

The release date of Planet of Lana 2 has been discovered along with a new trailer where we can see a collection of biomes ranging from natural landscapes to the depths of the sea, passing through forests, robot cemeteries and dystopian urban areas. In these and other scenarios, Lana and her little companion Mui, the two protagonists we already know from the first installment of the saga, will have to collaborate and use their special abilities to avoid robots, explore environments and solve puzzles.

As in Planet of Lana, the soundtrack for the sequel is provided by Takeshi Furukawa, who was also the composer of The Last Guardian.

Wishfully explains that Planet of Lana II is close to doubling the size of the first game. Their adventure will take players to explore new parts of the planet Novo, where in addition to challenges and dangers they will find friendly communities. Compared to the original installment, the sequel maintains the collaborative game system as well as the mix of puzzles and action and stealth sequences, and adds deeper exploration to the formula as well as a greater variety of physics-based puzzles. There are also new characters, new factions, and a longer story that continues to put the bond between Lana and Mui at the center.

«Developing the first Planet of Lana taught us a lot, so we've taken this knowledge to improve every aspect of the game in Planet of Lana II,» says director Adam Stjarnljus. «The first installment was very well received by players and critics, so we're looking forward to seeing people's reactions when they see the enhanced sequel with the demo on February 11 and the full version on March 5.»
