To start, Path of Exile 2 Early Access will offer six classes that will be able to complete the main campaign and unlock two Ancestry classes. In the future the game will add more classes, but the ones available from day one will be:
Monk: notable for his ability to quickly enter and exit combat

- Invoker: a master of the elements
- The Acolyte of Chayula: Leave the dominion of Spirit to embrace the power of Darkness
Warrior: has a slow but devastating hand-to-hand combat style
- Ancestry
- Titan: Specializing in stunning attacks, big hits, and defense
- Warbringer: Summon spirits to hit enemies
Explorer: stands out for her agility and versatility in combat
- Ancestry
- Deadeye: an expert and agile archer
- Pathfinder: expert in the use of flasks and poison
Mercenary: Wields a crossbow capable of firing different types of ammunition
- Ancestry
- Witchhunter: has an additional defense against magical attacks
- The Gemling Legionnaire: Enhances your abilities by socketing gems into your own body
Witch: Summon an army of undead at your command
- Ancestry:
- Blood Mage: A master of life energy who uses her life as a resource
- Infernalist: Increases your damage as you cast spells
Sorceress: controls the elements at will
- Ancestry
- Stormweaver: a master of the elements capable of casting spells faster
- Chronomancer: Use elemental magic to slow enemies and even stop time
After completing the three Path of Exile 2 campaign acts present in Early Access, players will unlock these same three acts on Cruel difficulty, and when they reach level 65 they will access the activities endgame of the game, which includes «a multitude of zones with different biomes, a powerful crafting system, challenging bosses, unique encounters and much more.» As you progress through the endgame Players will gain access to special passive skill trees, which will increase map rewards and change how mechanics work.
Some of the tests that the endgame from Path of Exile 2 will be:
- Trial of the Sekhemas: to unlock ancestry, players must complete Trials that will be found throughout the campaign.
- The Trial of the Chaos God: another way to unlock ancestry.
- Expedition: There are relics marked on a map and you have to collect as many as possible.
- Ritual: Enemies around the pillar feed the ritual. When finished, eliminated enemies will be resurrected.
- Delirium: The maps have been touched by madness and a mysterious entity has taken an interest in the player.
- Pinnacle: When completing maps, a gigantic Fortress may appear.
