«The stadium does not resemble anything you have played before in Overwatch 2». This is how Blizzard Entertainment describes the new game mode that your shooter by teams free-to-play He will receive on April 22 with the beginning of season 16. To open Boca the company has launched a trailer and offered new details in this way of experiencing Overwatch 2. Next to the advantages system and the loot boxes with cosmetics, both already available, stadium is the third great novelty that the game receives this year.

Stadium is presented as «a new way of playing» Overwatch 2 where two teams of five players face in sands the best of seven rounds. The novelties regarding current modes are many, including a new third -person camera. As soon as you start, the players will choose the hero they want for the entire game with a composition of 1 tank, 2 dps and 2 supports. After each round, the hero is improved with powers, which include modifiers that change the skills and the way of playing it. Then it is possible to spend stadium money, a new currency with which improvements for the hero in the armory are bought.

«With the objects and powers you have won throughout the game, you will control a hero with a unique design during the whole game,» explains Blizzard. Before each round the players will have a time to equip objects and powers in the armory. At that moment the stadium money will be spent, but at the beginning of the first, third, fifth and seventh rounds you can equip free powers.

Objects are potentiars that complement weapons, skills or survival capacity and there are three types. Most are for any hero, but some are exclusive. Up to six objects can be equipped and if you need money or release a rune there is the option to sell them. On the other hand we have the powers, which are modifiers that grant unique passive or totally new skills. «If you combine the right powers, you can design unique strategies that will completely change the way you play with your hero,» says Blizzard. The powers do not require stadium money, but once equipped one cannot be removed. The game will offer suggestions about which objects or powers choose.

The stadium includes nine different maps with the main control modes control, progress or contest that will have special rules. Some maps are known and others totally new. Regarding the third person view, it is what this mode uses by default. Blizzard considers that stage is a complex mode and this camera is the best to know what happens around the character. Changing in the first person will be an option. Finally, mention that stadium has its own competitive and independent ranges system of competitive items.
