G-Assist is an assistant who interacts with the user through voice or text indications such as any other, but has been designed to help players control PC settings, from system optimization and games through the monitoring of the frame rate and other performance-related statistics. The idea is to let the assistant optimize the games to obtain a better performance or image quality. That will go to the taste of each one. G-ASSIST can also control some peripherals and applications to adjust the speeds of the fans or change the lighting.
The G-Assist execution is local, and according to Nvidia uses a Small Language Model (SLM) «specially adjusted to efficiently interpret the instructions in natural language and call various NVIDIA API and third parties to execute actions on the PC». Among its functions we also find the ability to answer questions about the PC or NVIDIA software, as well as provide real -time diagnoses and recommendations to improve energy efficiency, modify the GPU clock frequency or reduce the resolution of a game to reach frames per second desired.
In addition to an RTX graphics card of the 30, 40 or 50 series with 12 GB of VRM, Project G-ASSSISC requires 9.5 GB of storage to offer the assistant functions (6.5 GB) and voice commands (3 GB) and have the drivers GeForce 572.83.
On the other hand, Nvidia has taken the opportunity to reveal the news that DLSS will receive this week. The most outstanding is the DLSS – Super Resolution function that allows prioritizing between image quality or performance. In addition, the company has announced that Enlisted, FBC: Firebreak, The First Berserker: Khazan, Karma: The Dark World and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will allow to activate DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.
