Capcom has launched the Fourth Trailer of Onimusha: Way of the Sword that has as its protagonist Miyamoto Musashi, the samurai that stars in the campaign of this installment for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (Steam). The footage allows us to enter the history of the hero and some of the characters with which he will contact throughout his trip, but what he still does not indicate is a date. This means that we continue with 2026 as a launch window.

Miyamoto Musashi is a young samurai who arrives in Kyoto at the beginning of the EDO period (1603 – 1868) with the aim of continuing to work in the domain of the sword and demonstrates that his ability has no rival. However, Musashi is attacked by the genum, demons arising from chaos that have abandoned hell and mired the capital in fear. When he dies, the samurai is offered the possibility of returning to life, but if he wants to fight against the demons Genma needs to use the oni glovelete. This choice puts Musehi at a crossroads. «The path of the sword only requires my strength,» says the samurai in the trailer. «I don't need the power of a monster.»

Musashi ends up accepting the glovelete oni to return to the world of the living and find a way to get rid of him.

The facial model of Miyamoto Musashi is Toshiro Mifune, the deceased and star of Japanese cinema of Samurais.

Although Musashi does not want the glovelete Oni, without this characteristic element of the onimusha saga it is impossible to fight against the demons. This glovelete has the ability to absorb the souls of the defeated enemies to recover health, improve the equipment and unlock new skills. In addition, in certain circumstances it is possible to deploy oni power. The other pillar of Onimusha's combat experience: Way of the Sword are the ISSEN skills, which allow the enemy to attack just before receiving an impact in order to execute a powerful counterattack.

In combat, Musashi can also repel and divert attacks. The repell action allows to return an attack including projectiles, while diverting occurs when the samurai executes a precise block and thus manages to stun the enemy.
