In Capcom they do not stop counting units sold by millions, especially when it comes to the Monster Hunter saga. On this occasion the game that reaches the meritorious figure of 10 million units is Sunbreak, the expansion that Monster Hunter Rise received in 2022.

Capcom speaks of Sunbreak as a «great prémonic expansion» for Monster Hunter Rise, a title that according to the company was very well received by the players thanks to their new scenarios, monsters and unpublished hunting actions. One of them is the mountain range, a tool that allows you to travel with freedom through a series of movements and maneuvers. The company also attributes the success of Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion to the free updates that it has launched over time.

In addition, Capcom acknowledges that carrying Monster Hunter Rise to several platforms, this delivery first reached Switch and PC to later debut on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, resulted in an extension of the players base worldwide. Thanks to this, the title «is still enjoyed by many users even today, three years after its launch,» says the Japanese company. Before making the leap to PlayStation and Xbox, Monster Hunter Rise had managed to place 11.20 million units. Now it has 17.10 million.

Regarding the Sunbreak expansion, he first arrived at Switch and PC where he sold 5 million units and a few months later became part of the PlayStation and Xbox catalog. After their debut in these two consoles Sunbreak sales rose to 6 million. That was in 2023 and two years later Capcom celebrates that the expansion already adds 10 million copies sold. In parallel other deliveries of the saga such as Monster Hunter World have continued dispatching millions of units, while the recent Monster Hunter Wilds closed its first month in the stores by placing more than 10 million copies.

From the launch of the first title in 2004 the Monster Hunder saga adds more than 120 million copies sold. It only exceeds Resident Evil with 170 million units, but the two most dispatched games in Capcom's history are Monster Hunter: World (21.5 million) and Monster Hunter Rise (17.10 million).
