With a message in X and less than a dozen words. This is how PlayStation Studios has announced the release date for Marvel's Wolverine, which will be available on September 15 for PS5. The title developed by Insomniac Games will come to our lands under the name Marvel: Wolverine, which has been the translation that has historically been used in Spain for this character from the X-Men universe.

That PlayStation Studios and Insomniac Games have announced the release date of Marvel: Wolverine without showing new material from the game is possibly due to the fact that they have prepared a marketing campaign that is just beginning to roll out today. When it has a big game in its hands, Sony usually dedicates an exclusive State of Play to it. For example, last year Ghost of Yotei was PlayStation 5's big bet for the Christmas campaign, and in July the title developed by Sucker Punch Productions starred in a 20-minute broadcast that served to offer an in-depth analysis of the playable proposal.

Announcing the release date is also a way to tell both players and the competition what date to mark on their calendar. Those interested in Marvel: Wolverine will count the days until September 15, while the rest of the industry will adjust (or not) the launch of their titles based on this information. For now, S-Game will not be too happy with Sony if we take into account that at the end of 2025 it announced that Phantom Blade Zero would be available on September 9 on PS5 and PC. There is less than a week difference with Marvel: Wolverine.

During the second half of the year there will be pushes to put any game on sale before November 19, which is the date reserved for Grand Theft Auto VI. PlayStation Studios has already occupied September 12. Xbox Game Studios has yet to announce when Fable will be available, we only know that it will arrive in the fall, and it remains to be seen if Gears of War: E-Day will debut this year or next. To these games we must add the titles that Nintendo is preparing for Switch 2 and we will see if they also include the next Call of Duty.

When Marvel's Wolverine hits stores, five years will have passed since the game's presentation. Insomniac Games said it was working on this project on September 9, 2021 and the title will be available on September 12, 2026.
