Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls presents Peni Parker and Guilty Gear: Strive announces the passage of season 5

Arc System Works has taken advantage of the celebration in Korea of ​​the finals of the Arc World Tour 2025–2026 to announce news about two of its fighting games: Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which adds Peni Parker to its cast of playable characters, and Guilty Gear: Strive, which will receive update 2.00 on April 9 and Jam Kuradoberi, the first of the four characters that are part of season pass 5.

Young Peni Parker is voiced by actress Risa Mei and joins Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls as part of the Amazing Guardians team, which also includes Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel and Star-Lord. How these four heroes meet and how they will work together despite their differences will be explained in the episode mode. The Amazing Guardians are the second confirmed Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls team after Unbreakable X-Men, which is made up of Storm, Magik, Danger and Wolverine.

Peni Parker is an American student of Japanese descent and a scientist with a psychic link to a radioactive spider named SP//dr, alongside whom she pilots a mecha of the same name. More than one will know her thanks to the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and its sequel. In combat, Peni Parker uses both the SP//dr and a range of gadgets and tools that allow her to adapt to different situations. Even though he grew up in the United States, he occasionally misses some Japanese phrases.

Arc System Works has also announced that the last opportunity to try out Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will be at EVO Japan 2026 which will be held in Tokyo from May 1 to 3. This demo will include Peni Parker as a playable character and a new stage called Knowhere that is tied to the team The Amazing Guardians. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will go on sale on August 6 and will feature 20 fighters from day one.

On the other hand, Arc System Works has announced that Guilty Gear: Strive update 2.00 will be available on April 9 and Jam Kuradoberi will also arrive that same daythe first character of Season Pass 5, and the Cradled by the Four Beasts stage. He will be accompanied by Robo=Ky in the summer and two other fighters who will be available in winter 2026 and spring 2027. Their names have not been revealed. We will see if there is room for surprise and one of them is a guest character like Lucy from the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Regarding update 2.00 of Guilty Gear: Strive, it includes the new Wild Assault and Counter Blitz combat mechanics, new special moves, new accessories and outfits, short stories and the Blazing Pass, a new seasonal reward system that will be launched in May.
