Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls details the content of the open beta, which will take place from July 24 to 26

PlayStation Studios has detailed the content and date of the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls open beta, which will be available on PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games Store from July 24 at 9:00 CEST to July 26 at 8:59 CEST. Preloading will be enabled two hours before the servers are operational. Console players do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription, but on both PS5 and PC there is a requirement to have a PlayStation account, which will also be required to play the title once it is available.

In the open beta of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, 15 characters will be available (listed below) and six scenarios inspired by Marvel locations, including Marvel’s New York (day), Savage Land, X-Mansion, Wisdom, Wakanda and Marvel’s New York (night). Regarding the game modes, causal games will be enabled to face rivals of a similar skill level and qualifying games to climb positions in a competitive environment. Also included will be local Versus mode to fight against a friend or the CPU, Training mode and an interactive tutorial.

The Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls open beta will have full localization in Spanish and American Spanish, among other languages.

In addition to beating each other online and locally, participants in the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls open beta will be able to take a look at Episode mode. Players will have at their disposal the first three chapters of the story of the Amazing Guardians, in which Spider-Man begins to assemble his team to face a mysterious threat that descends on Earth. Episode mode features a script written by Kieron Gillen, a renowned comic book writer and former video game journalist.

«If you played during last year’s closed betas, you’ll notice that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has continued to evolve,» says a Sony representative. «Based on community feedback, we’ve refined the game, improved mechanics, and made numerous adjustments to the entire experience to deliver an even more exciting and accessible team-based fighting game.»

Developed by Arc System Works, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will be available on August 6 for PS5 and PC. The title will not be accompanied by the FlexStrike wireless arcade fighting stick, whose release has been delayed until further notice.
