After about two years, threatening his conclusion, he is finally bad «Gold». The new game for the work of the Spanish study 4MHz culminates no less than a five years of development and will be revealed in physical format on February 15 at the Arcade Vintage Museum of IBI, Alicante, where those responsible will make it known in its final phase after having exhibited it in the beta phase by several world matches.

While bad is not the only Spanish game for developing nor 4MHz the only study overturned in the creation of new titles for old machines (there are the unspeakable creations of the Mojon Twins or Pat Morita Team, which has achieved recognition with brother for brother Game Boy), the technical and artistic level achieved by those responsible is so high that it deserves attention.

Malasombra puts us on the skin of Pirou, a bisoño aspiring sorcerer to which the bride is taken on the same day of his wedding, not without throwing a enchantment on the attendees. To undo the Pirou erartue, it must use a powerful grimoire full of new skills, such as transmutation into animals to get where it would be impossible with its human form.

One of the most impressive aspects of Malasombra is that 4MHz has designed its own cartridge for NES. Although the team was known for their work for Amstrad CPC, including the great (others would say sadistic) Profanation 2: Escape from Abu Simbel, for this new 2D adventure with lateral and vertical scroll they have put all the meat on the grill, using the mapper MMC1 (used by games like Ninja Gaiden) and even allowing the storage of the games in memory without the need for a pile.

4MHZ has not yet facilitated the price of Malasombra, but we know that it will arrive in the second quarter of 2025 in physical and downloadable versions.
