Halo: Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of the first installment of the Halo saga that has been developed with Unreal Engine 5, a new solution for Halo Studios, which until now had worked with Slipspace. This change was formally announced in October 2024, the same day that 343 Industries became Halo Studios. This engine has been used to recreate the original game, but with completely renewed graphics, improved cinematics and updated controls. There is also a four-player online cooperative mode with cross-play and shared progression between all platforms.
The Halo: Campaign Evolved requirements that you can see below go a little beyond the minimum and recommended requirements. Playing at 1080p or 1440p and 60 FPS won’t be too complicated, but things can get a little complicated for those who want to go up to 4K. It is unknown if the game will have support for upscaling technology such as DLSS or FSR.
On the other hand we have the Halo: Campaign Evolved trailer focused on the campaign. The narrative part will not surprise players of the Halo saga, since the script has not undergone any changes. With this delivery it all began. The story starring the Master Chief begins after a landing on a mysterious ring world known as Halo. Accompanied by the AI Cortana, his first mission is to help the humans who have managed to survive in their fight against the Covenant forces that threaten humanity.
The Halo: Campaign Evolved campaign will be expanded by Operation: Meteorite, a new story arc of three missions that take place a year before the events narrated in the game. It is a story starring the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, who will take players behind enemy lines in a UNSC operation that takes place aboard a Covenant research ship. It all starts as an infiltration and extraction mission, but a discovery complicates everything.
