Bandai Namco has released the Code Vein II «Walkthrough» trailer that uses one of the game's missions to showcase the gameplay, mechanics, and core systems of this installment. In addition, the company has announced that on January 23 it will launch the Character Creator Demo so that players can customize their character, save it and transfer it to the full game as it becomes available on January 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC through Steam. The demo will also allow you to explore the MagMell Institute and pose in photo mode.

Code Vein II's campaign puts players in the shoes of a resurrected hunter who travels through the past and present to prevent the collapse of the world. The trailer that stars in this news is guided by a voice-over and takes us back 100 years, when our hero joins Josée Anjou on a mission to clean the contaminated waters of the Sunken City and discover the truth behind the pollution that has unleashed the crisis. Josée, a resurrected one who rules Sunken City, feels guilty for her mistakes that caused serious destruction and are related to pollution.

The Code Vein II demo places us in the last part of the Sunken Electric Tower, a dungeon that contains the key to purifying the Sunken City. To confront enemies, the title has seven different types of weapons that provide different combat styles, from the agile double blades to the powerful halberd. In addition to weapons, Code Vein II has Forms, which are special abilities divided into three categories: weapons, defensive and legacies. They all improve or modify attacks. Each Form consumes Ichor, a resource obtained through the draining attack mechanic.

Another element to take into account is the companion system, which allows players to alternate between summoning a companion to fight at their side or assimilating their combat skills to improve attributes and performance. The trailer ends with a confrontation against a final boss where the Healing Offering appears, an ability through which the companion can resurrect the hero and restore his health. The price to pay for this is a recharge time that leaves the teammate incapacitated and unable to help.
