Bandai Namco is doing the rest ahead of the launch of Code Vein II with a general trailer that lasts almost 9 minutes and offers a review of the story, gameplay systems and mechanics. The game will be available on January 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam. Before that, on January 23, a demo will allow players on all three platforms to create a custom character that can be saved and transferred to the full game.

The story of Code Vein II places us in a future in which humans and the resurrected coexist. In the past, humanity was close to extinction due to the appearance of horrors, but a group of resurrected people considered heroes managed to reestablish the seal that kept them at bay. A century later, the seal deteriorates and as this happens outbreaks of the resurgence appear, the phenomenon that gave rise to the horrors. As a RisenHunter, players must stop the world from collapsing by traveling alongside a young woman named Lou who has the power to manipulate time.

Code Vein II's combat system promises to give players great control and several possibilities to define their play style through the choice of weapons and Forms. One of the key elements is an artifact that our hero hides on his back and that allows him to use resurrection skills. The protagonist also has access to different attacks, including the drainer that draws blood to obtain ichor, an element to launch a powerful attack called Shape. If you harass an enemy you can become vulnerable, a state that allows you to launch powerful special draining attacks.

The draining actions depend on the cage, which is the artifact that the protagonist carries on his back. Each cage has unique features. Regarding Forms, there are three types and a weapon can be equipped with up to four different Forms. There is also the option to choose the type of weapon, each with its strengths and combat style.

For its part, the companion system allows you to have allies in combat. Each of them offers unique special effects called Bond Traits and Trait Bonuses. The former are activated if the bond with the partner is strong, while the latter provide passive effects that can be enhanced if the relationship becomes closer. In combat, the companion can be used in two ways: by summoning it to fight on its own and offer assistance, and by assimilation, which is a fusion to enhance powers, attributes and abilities. The companion can also resurrect the hero.

Regarding the exploration of the new world that Code Vein II proposes, it can be done on foot or by motorcycle.
