During the event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball, Bandai Namco announced that it is working on additional content for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero that will be available in summer. There are also updates on the way that will add Mission 100 mode on January 26 and Survival mode in the spring. In addition, the company has revealed the existence of AGE 1000, a new yet unnamed Dragon Ball title about which we will have more information in April. The game features new characters created by the late Akira Toriyama. As a tip, it has been confirmed that the Dragon Ball Super anime will continue.

The new add-on for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is described as «huge» and Bandai Namco says it is packed with new playable characters, moves, stages, outfits and a new single-player mode among other content. The company says that until now the additional content has focused on adding new characters, but this time they want to be more ambitious and introduce other elements. Producer Jun Furutani assured during the presentation that in this way they comply with the players' request.

Among the new characters that the additional content will add we have Super Android 17, King Piccolo and Super Saiyan Bardock, while one of the suits is Gohan's when he was little.

On January 26, Dragon Ball: Sparking! players Zero will receive an update with the Mission 100 single-player mode, which will allow you to use any playable character to complete different challenges. This mode, present in other installments of the saga such as Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, promises to offer a great variety of battles. In spring it will be the turn of Survival Mode, a game mode that has not been detailed but whose name is quite revealing. Switch and Switch 2 players should know that their schedule is different from that of other platforms. Below you have the roadmap.

Regarding the AGE 1000 project, it is a title that has been in development for six years and is scheduled for release in 2027 on platforms that have not yet been detailed. There is very little information about this title. Bandai Namco has only commented that the project features «a new, unreleased world and characters by Akira Toriyama», who was apparently involved in the game until his death in March 2024. For more details on AGE 1000 we have to wait for the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event to be held in Los Angeles, California (United States), from April 18 to 19.

Below you have the teaser AGE 1000 trailer.

Finally, we have news about the Dragon Ball anime. During the event it was announced that Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is in production and its story will cover the Tournament of Power arc to the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc. Executive producer Akio Iyoku attributes the story and character design to Akira Toriyama. On the other hand, we have an improved edition of Dragon Ball Super called Dragon Ball Super: Beerus on the way, the first chapters of which will be available this year.

Thanks to the return of Dragon Ball Super, anime fans will be able to continue the story where the Universe Survival arc left off.
