After announcing four release dates, September 5, October 31, November 26 and December 12, and appearing three times in the monthly releases article, Terminator 2D No Fate is finally on sale today for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. On consoles, the title is available in digital and physical formats with Day One and Collector's editions.

Developed by Bitmap Bureau (Xeno Crisis, Battle Axe, Final Vendetta), Terminator 2D: No Fate is a side-scrolling arcade action game with a narrative campaign that mixes scenes from the movie Terminator 2 (1991) and original scenarios. This combination allows us to adapt events narrated in James Cameron's film and travel to other timelines. The playable characters are Sarah Connor and the T-800, who confront the T-1000 and try to stop Skynet's plans to save humanity like in the movie, while in the future John Connor leads the Resistance in the war against the machines.

Each of the playable characters has its own characteristics. Sarah Connor is agile and reactive and excels in hand-to-hand combat with direct attacks; John Connor has mechanics that emphasize medium to long-range strategic combat, using a plasma rifle, homemade bombs, and three types of ammunition; and the T-800 compensates for its low speed with high durability that allows it to take a lot of damage. The T-1000 cannot be controlled, but it relies on its liquid abilities and the poise of Robert Patrick.

«I think in Terminator 2D: No Fate we poured our love for the arcade games of the '80s and '90s and my goal was to create the side-scrolling Terminator 2 game that we should have had in our youth,» says Mike Tucker, director of design and product at Bitmap Bureau. During the arcade missions players will encounter bosses and various challenges, such as exploring for resources and items, checkpoints and weapons. At the end of each level the game evaluates the player's performance based on several factors to give a score and rank.

Once the campaign is completed you can access different modes, including Boss Rush, an infinite mode, a mode for speedrunners called Mother of the Future and Level Training to repeat levels on demand.
