There are not many video game sagas that after more than 30 years of history are in full form. One of them is Doom, which after reviving in 2016 by the hand of ID Software, the team that gave it life, today returns to the shelves with Doom: The Dark Age, a delivery that is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC through Steam. This is Microsoft's first doom, so the title is also part of the Game Pass catalog.

Doom: The Dark Ages is a delivery inspired by the original 1993, that in which the player had to avoid projectiles and the combat system was more landed. This look back does not mean absence of innovation within the saga, something that ID Software always seeks how it has already shown us with Doom (2016) and Eternal Doom. This commitment to a more stuck to the ground is accompanied by the Sierra shield, a versatile weapon capable of blocking, diverting and repelling attacks, as well as hitting the enemy from afar. Minor demons are annihilated when they are whipped and the most resistant can be unbalanced.

To the Sierra shield you have to add a sleeve, the mace with nails or the electrified glovelete, three tools that allow the Slayer to fight as a «metal tank.» Who has played Doom (2016) or Eternal Doom must overcome a learning curve to dominate arsenal melee and a combat system where they send strength and resistance. In the equation the weapons are not lacking and this is where the superscopeta, the aplaastacranos that launches skull fragments or the rever chain cannon, a ballistic mace, enters. As in all doom deliveries, the greater the domain greater power.

In another section of Arsenal we find the Atlan, a MECA capable of facing demons the size of a skyscraper, and a mecadragón covered with reactors that spit fire.

At the campaign level, that of Doom: The Dark Ages is described as the «most ambitious» of the saga, with 22 levels some of which have areas sandbox where in addition to enemies there are hidden objects and elements to enhance Slayer's skills. History is a prequel that develops within the framework of a medieval war initiated by hell, which seeing divided humanity has decided to attack. Humans turn to the Maykrs, a very advanced race that puts the Slayer at their service. It seems that the time has come to obtain some answers to the questions that the previous deliveries of Doom were in the air.

Finally, highlight the graphic section. Doom: The Dark Age makes use of the ID Tech 8 engine, which promises to «take us to a new era of visual performance and fidelity with the lighting and shading of ray layout technology, high -resolution image quality.» In PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series the game reaches 60 fps, while on PC the performance will mark the computer of each. You will find the requirements here.
