The Black Tides mission «closes the story of Yasuke and Naoe,» says Ubisoft. In this new and final chapter the two protagonists face a pair of elite templars known as the Black Cross who have arrived in Japan to hunt them down for the problems they have caused, «but perhaps they have their own objectives,» adds the development team. To access this mission it is necessary to have finished the main stories of Naoe and Yasuke, in addition to completing the two previous story installments including A Critical Encounter, in which Rufino is recruited, and Disconcerting, in which the same is done with Kane and Kinu.
It is not necessary to complete The Claws of Awaji to access Black Tides.
On the other hand, we have Domains, a new activity aimed at players who want to take advantage of the equipment they have obtained in «highly difficult» content. «Domains is an Animus activity that will test your role-playing character design skills as you tackle five new game scenarios with ten levels of difficulty,» says Simon Lemay-Comtois, associate director of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. «The higher the difficulty, the more mechanics modifiers will be applied.» The objective is to put players on the spot so that they adapt their strategies.
Dominions has its own merchant and in-game currency that can be used to purchase new sets of equipment, new engravings, and new weapons. Additionally, this activity has a progress tree where you can obtain Animus cheats. Some of the rewards obtained in Domains are special and will never be available in the store or in Exchange. Additionally, we have two new projects (Riptides and Undertow) for the Animus Hub with rewards that bridge feudal Japan with the Caribbean. These two projects will also be playable in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
The 1.1.11 patch notes for Assassin’s Creed Shadows also contain a number of bug fixes and performance improvements for Switch 2 in handheld mode.
