The story of Afterlove EP takes place in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and puts players in the shoes of Rama, a young musician struggling to move on with his life after the death of his girlfriend Cinta. Even though his closest friends and bandmates try to help him, Rama has been stagnant for a year and has neglected music, his mental health, and his relationships. Furthermore, he hears Cinta's voice in his head without knowing if it is a spirit or a fruit of his imagination.
After a completely lost year, Rama now only has a month to wake up. His band is facing the biggest concert in its history, so either he gets serious about music and comes out with the new songs he's been promising, or the group will move on without him. Over the course of 28 days, players will make decisions that will determine Rama's path.
Afterlove EP proposes to explore the city of Jakarta, a place where the game developers live or have lived, to help Rama accept the past and rediscover his creative side. To achieve this, players must visit the streets of the Indonesian capital and decide which relationships to reestablish and which to undertake. Pikselnesia promises deep and meaningful conversations with all types of characters, as well as sections worthy of a rhythm game. The game's art is inspired by the work of artist Soyatu, while the soundtrack is the work of the group L'Alphalpha. They're both Indonesian, so it's all at home.
Coffee Talk is a niche game like (except for a capital surprise) Afterlove EP will be, but within its genre it is a title highly valued by the press and public. It remains to be seen how the mix of genres and the loss of Mohammad Fahmi will do for Afterlove EP.
