«First of all, I would like to express my deepest thanks to all our fans and all the people involved who have supported the series over the years,» says Kazutoki Kono. The director says that all those involved in the saga tell them that they must offer a high quality experience that exceeds expectations and generates emotion for what is yet to come, and then respond to that expectation with an even greater ambition. «By continuing with this cycle, we build a confidence link with our players, and that link is the most authentic expression of our gratitude,» says Kono.
The current director of the series Ace Combat recognizes that in some moments «we may not have fulfilled expectations», but argues that sometimes «we fly higher than anyone imagined.» For Kono one of the keys has been the adaptation and «continuous commitment to offer value and win your trust.»
«And now, we are ready. Everything is in its place. It is time to fly once again, towards even greater heights,» says Kono at the end of his letter for the 30th anniversary of Ace Combat.

We do not know what the next installment of Ace Combat will be like but the last one, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (2019), which has managed to sell more than 6 million units between the copies of PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam.
