Hazelight Studios' biggest commercial success is without a doubt It Takes Two, which has accumulated more than 30 million copies sold. This action and platform title starring Cody and May, a couple who are about to separate, went on sale in March 2021 and took a month to sell one million units, three months to reach 2 million and seven months to reach 3 million. If we take into account the final result, the start was slow, but over time It Takes Two did not stop shipping units.
In February 2023 It Takes Two reached 10 million copies, in October 2024 the figure had risen to 20 million and today we discovered that it is already 30 million. In 2022 Hazelight Studios signed an agreement with Story Kitchen (formerly dj2 Entertainment) to bring the game to film and television, but since then nothing more has been heard about the project.
In second position we have A Way Out with 13 million units sold. This title is especially important for Hazelight Studios, since it is a project that according to Josef Fares “no one believed in.” Electronic Arts, which has published all of the company's games so far, also did not trust the game, but still entrusted Fares and his team. The last time A Way Out's sales surpassed was in 2024 when it had reached 9 million copies. Two years later the figure has risen to 13 million.
In last place we have Split Fiction with 7 million copies sold. This title has been available for a year, so looking at the history of the other Hazelight Studios games, it still has a long journey in stores. In addition, Split Fiction has a film starring Sydney Sweeney on the way and whose rights belong to Amazon MGM Studios. Its screenwriters are Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, responsible for Deadpool & Wolverine, while the director is Jon M. Chu (Wicked, Crazy Rich Asians).
