Project M is a horror game exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 that Babieno can't talk about yet, although he's dying to do so. «[…] it's too soon […]», says the executive. «The only thing I can say is that fans of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Limbo and Eternal Darkness will immediately feel at home,» says the developer. The game will not limit itself to being inspired by the aforementioned titles, but will also try to bring something totally new to the horror genre. In addition, Babieno adds that it is a game with a vision that «could only exist on Nintendo hardware.»
The CEO of Bloober Team also reveals that without Nintendo's support the title behind the codename Project M would not exist. It is unknown for now if the support that the Polish studio has received from the Japanese company is technical, economic or if it goes beyond. For example, you could have given him one of your licenses.
The last question they ask Babieno before he declares himself addicted to coffee is what classic horror game would he recover for a remake and which saga you would like to work on to create a new installment. Eternal Darkness answers the first question, while for the second it puts two ideas on the table: a horror game with Samus Aran and a Zelda that offers a dark version of Link's adventures. It seems difficult for Nintendo to give Bloober Team Samus or Link for these tasks, but Eternal Darkness is a license that many long for and that fits very well into the Polish team's resume.
In the absence of a remake From Eternal Darkness, Nintendo Switch 2 players will have to wait for Project M and its mix of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Limbo and Eternal Darkness with an innovative twist.
