The Star Wars Celebration that is celebrated this week in Japan has been the background heel for the presentation of Star Wars Zero Company, a tactical shift game developed by BIT Reactor in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and Respawn Entertainment, which within Electronic Arts controls everything related to Star Wars. The title has been announced with a first trailer and details, while its launch is still distant because it is scheduled for 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.

In Star Wars Zero Company the players will put themselves in the skin of Hawks, a former officer of the Republic that leads the Zero company, «an unconventional group of mercenaries everywhere in the galaxy,» says the official literature. The action takes place throughout an «authentic and exciting» history set in the decline of clone wars, a conflict between the galactic republic and the confederation of independent systems. Both in the films and in the Star Wars series, clone wars have been a very important chapter in the history of the franchise created by George Lucas and is now owned by Disney.

«Hawks and the Zero company are recruited for an operation in which they must face a new threat capable of devouring the entire galaxy if nobody puts a brake,» says the description of Star Wars Zero Company. «Hawks will lead an unusual team that will have to put aside their differences to overcome against all prognosis.»

Star Wars Zero Company is a game that not only follows the wake of Xcom for coinciding in the genre, but will also offer other characteristics such as characters with their own stories that involve the player, causing the destiny of each of them to be something important. In a universe like Star Wars to the background, history, archetype and personality of each character, the species must be added. Everything will be taken into account when forming links between group members who can unlock powerful synergies in combat.

Another characteristics of Star Wars Zero Company is permanent death, so any partner who falls in combat will not return to the next challenge. Who does not dare with it will have the option to deactivate it. Bit Reactor wants to offer a game for unconditional shift strategy, but with accessibility options not to overwhelm the newcomers to the genre. Whoever wants to play only for history can do it without problems, according to Greg Foertsch, director of BIT reactor to PC Gamer. Whoever wants to suffer will also have their dose.
