To begin with, the Black OPS 6 multiplayer receives «significant adjustments» to combat the impact of the cheats and improve the competitive experience with retroactive adjustments of SR (Skill Rating) and the reinstatement to matched games. When a cheater is detected and expelled in matched games, any player who has recently lost against him will receive a reimbursement of his SR, while players who play repeatedly with cheats or make team with them could lose SR won in those victories. For its part, the reinstatement to items will allow to reconnect in case of accidental disconnection. This function will give five minutes of margin and the companions will receive a reduction in the loss of SR in case they lose the game after a reinstatement.
For Warzone players, the Ricochet team has implemented limited match, a more known system as shadowban which temporarily separates suspicious accounts into a different pairing group while investigating its activity. Activision ensures that less than 0.15 % of the total number of players are affected by this system. On the other hand we have an update of the Killcam, which aims to help players better understand their clashes and make more precise reports. Activision says that the majority of reports to report to full are generated in console, where the population of cheats detected is «extremely low» compared to the PC, which means that a large volume of reports is inaccurate.
Regarding the cross game and after recognizing that most cheats are on PC, Activision has decided to expand alternatives to offer console players a safer environment. With season three, three new options are added to the cross game. Activated enables the pairing with all platforms; Activated (only consoles) enables pairing only with other consoles; and deactivated restricts the pairing to the current platform. The last two options negatively affect the waiting times because the base of available players is lower.
«Since the launch of Black Ops 6, the Ricochet team has taken active measures against the creators and resellers of traps, making more than 20 developers and dozens of resellers close their operations,» explains Activision. «In addition, more than 228,000 ban, eliminating 23 % of cheats before playing their first game have been made.» To reinforce this initiative, new tools have been added such as advanced AIM Bot detection and an automatic learning system to detect suspicious patterns. Likewise, any account that is linked to a new platform must complete a security challenge to verify the property ownership.
