The incombustible World of Warcraft advances on the back of the Midnight expansion and heads towards its next major content update, The Curse of Ula’tek, which will introduce a new area, a raid and a dungeon among other new features. Patch 12.1 will also mark the start of Season 2. This content does not have a release date yet, but Blizzard Entertainment’s roadmap for 2026 says it will be available during the summer.

With this update, the heroes of Azeroth will continue the Zul’jan story to the Serpentine Isle, which is located off the eastern coast of Zul’Aman. Led by Zul’jarra, leader of the Amani trolls, players will search for his brother Zul’jan as they delve into the history of the Amani on the Serpentine Isle to discover what lies hidden there. Activities and adventures await in this area, as well as a rotation of public events that will culminate in a boss battle. While on the island, adventurers will have access to a talent tree with perks and improvements to the gameplay experience.

Players looking for a greater challenge should visit the Poison Abyss, a raid with eight bosses that ends with a fight against Ula’tek. The instanced content also expands a new dungeon called Altar of Fangs and three new depths, one of which will be Nemesis. All of this content is part of Season 2, which as usual will be accompanied by a new rotation of Mythic+ dungeons (Kings’ Rest, Ruby Pools of Life, and Temple of Sethraliss return), a new PvP season, new prey, and the return of the Prodigal Depths.

At the interface level, patch 12.1 continues to expand the possibilities of the cooldown manager, which will allow you to track the use of trinkets and potions to facilitate the management of consumables. Players will also be able to mark their action bar or the cooldown manager itself to share information with their group, and new settings are coming for healer raid frames. On the other hand, there are new features in communication with the Discord integration. By connecting Batle.net and Discord accounts, players will have the option to chat with each other no matter where they are.

This update also introduces new features for homes, including new plans, importing layouts, allowing pets inside the house, and new neighborhood projects. Finally, there will be no shortage of the long list of changes and adjustments for all the classes available in WoW.
