Today The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales goes on sale, a game behind which we find Team Asano, the Square Enix team responsible for Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. The title comes with an average score of 80 out of 100 and is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is an action RPG that combines HD-2D graphic style and action-adventure gameplay. The title campaign is set in Philabieldia, a continent invaded by beasts where the only bastion of humanity is Huther, a kingdom protected by a magical barrier. When a mysterious set of ruins is discovered beyond the protective walls of the Kingdom of Huther, a young adventurer named Elliot and his fairy companion, Faie, embark on a journey that will unfold across time and space. Elliot is the only one who can see or hear Faie.

Elliot and Faie’s journey is not only to inspect the mysterious ruins, but also to search for a way to dispel the curse that afflicts Princess Heuria of Huther, who is responsible for the protection spell that protects the human kingdom from beasts. The four stages that our protagonists will visit through the Time Portal are:

  • The Age of Protection, to which Elliot belongs.
  • The Reconstruction Era, in which humans suffer times of hardship.
  • The Age of Magic, in which humanity reached its zenith.
  • Age of Awakening, in which civilization was born.

The combat system of The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is that of an action and role-playing game with a strategic element in charge of Faie, who during confrontations can execute actions at the player’s request and hit enemies. Outside of battle he is also useful thanks to his ability to pick up items or assist in exploration. To fight, Elliot has seven types of weapons, from melee swords to chains and scythes. Each weapon can be customized with different Magicite combinations, allowing players to adapt the combat style. Additionally, Elliot can block attacks.

Those interested in trying The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales can do so thanks to a demo that includes the prologue and whose progress can be transferred to the full version. Whoever decides to purchase the title and is willing to pay 239.99 euros has the option of getting the collector’s edition that stands out for presenting the Door of Time, a diorama-style piece that recreates this element of the game and includes an analog clock.
