The Pokémon Presents to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise has ended as everyone expected, with the announcement of a new installment. These are Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Wave, which will be available in 2027 worldwide for Nintendo Switch 2.

As tradition dictates, the first trailer for Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Wave served to introduce the three starter Pokémon. These are Browt (plant), Pombon (fire) and Gecqua (water). Special Pikachu also appear in the footage. In addition, the presentation trailer offers us a first look at the world, which, as can be guessed from the name of this installment, will have a strong aquatic component. For now, we see many islands, a city installed on the sea and many different environments, including volcanoes, jungles, beaches, forests, swamps and streams. The seabed will also be a stage.

The character's outfit will vary depending on the version of the game.

«Developed by Game Freak exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, these new titles are set in an open world with much to explore, with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean of crystal-clear waters rocked by waves,» says The Pokémon Company. «Pokémon have made this extraordinary region their home and have developed their own ecosystems. You will be able to team up with all types of Pokémon to face both the challenges that await you on this arduous journey and the forces of nature that could stand in your way.»

Regarding the three initial Pokémon that can be chosen, Browt, the Bean Chick Pokémon, is described as «cheerful and clumsy»; Pombon, the Dog Pokémon, is friendly and innocent; and Gecqua, the Aquageco Pokémon, is the smart one. On the other hand we have the Pikachu couple with a look never seen before. Their role in this new adventure is unknown for now, but we know that they respond to the name of Mr. Ventachu and Mrs. Oleachu.

During the presentation of Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Wave, it was also announced that the games will be officially available in Brazilian Portuguese, a language that adds to the many in which the game is already offered.
