The two new fighters arriving in Scott Pilgrim EX are two former enemies and acquaintances of Scott and Ramona: Matthew Patel is a member of the series' League of Evil Exes, and Robot-01 is a creation of two members of the same league, the Katayanagi Twins, built to take down Scott. On the list of playable characters we also have Lucas and Roxie. Players will be able to choose any of them to play alone or in a local and online cooperative mode that supports up to four participants.
Matthew Patel's style combines fire and ritualistic spectacle to manipulate combat like a puppeteer, doing so by using his hipster summoned demons to distract enemies, control crowds, and set traps. In addition, thanks to his supernatural abilities he can summon extra arms, launch bursts of flame and execute finishing moves. For its part, Robot-01 moves across the screen with thrusters, and with its transformations it is capable of accessing a varied arsenal that includes long-range blasts and a powerful attack that rains explosive projectiles all over the stage.
In Scott Pilgrim EX, Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers and other allies must fight their way through Toronto after members of the band Sex Bob-omb have been kidnapped along with their instruments, while the city is being terrorized by demons, vegans and robots. Players will be able to access seven playable characters. The identity of the latter will be known later. The game's story is original, while the soundtrack is provided by Anamanaguchi, just like in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.
