As a ripe fruit, the exclusive PS5 games fall to the basket of PC players. The last to take the step is Rise of the Ronin, an open world action RPG developed by the Team Ninja and edited by Koei Tecmo, which as its launch trailer reminds us from today is available for PC through Steam in exchange for 49.99 euros. The title arrives at the Valve store a year after the debut of the Sony console version.

The story of Rise of the Ronin is set in 19th -century Japan during the last years of the Tokugawa shogunate, a time known as the Bakumatsu period. Specifically we are in 1863, when the so -called black ships of the West arrive at the borders of Japan and the country adds into confusion. The campaign begins in Yokohama, then passes in Edo (what we call tokyo today) and ends in Kyoto. These were the most important cities of this historical period and have been built as an open world.

«In the midst of war, diseases and political instability, an unnamed warrior forges his own path with the future of Japan in his hands,» says the synopsis of Rise of the Ronin. This nameless warrior is our protagonist, a Ronin, a wandering man, a samurai without a master who throughout his trip through feudal Japan will cross with historical figures such as Ryoma Sakamoto, leader of the Rebellion Movement in front of the Shogunato during the Bakumatsu period, and Isami Kondo, commander of the Shinsengumi, a military force dedicated to suppress Shogunate The player's decisions will mark the story.

The Rise of the Ronin combat system offers different weapons melee, such as katanas, spears and odachis, as well as remote weapons including foreign firearms. Each of them has different styles. In combat they will come into play mechanics such as Couonterspark, an action that diverts enemy attacks, while martial skills do quite damage and are very effective against strong enemies. In addition to choosing a weapon, players must know the enemies and know which of the three combat styles, Ten (sky), chi (earth) and Jin (human), is better against each one.

Both in combat and when exploring our Ronin can resort to the rope. The rope acts as an anchor point to ascend and move along the stages, while in combat it is useful to bring enemies closer. There is also the option to use the whistle to call a horse and travel faster, or resort to the glider, a transport option that allows you to descend from an elevated area to plan through the sky and thus travel long distances flying. The glider is also useful for infiltrating enemy territory.

The Rise of the Ronin version for PC presents features such as support for 8K resolution, up to 120 fps and compatibility with climbing technology such as DLSS and FSR. Despite this, some players have reported performance problems.
