Bandai Namco has published a trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered where, for just over five minutes, Percy Propa, a virtual agent that those who played the original PS Vita version will already know, offers a detailed explanation of the story, gameplay, improvements and game systems. To go from theory to practice you just have to wait until January 10, the day chosen for this title to go on sale under the Bandai Namco label on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam .

The Freedom Wars campaign takes place in the distant future where the world's resources have been depleted. In this extreme situation, the simple act of being born is considered a sin and sinners are sentenced from birth for the crime of living. The sentence can be reduced by participating voluntarily (or not) in dangerous operations that contribute to the panopticon, the name given to penal city-states. The objective beyond taking years off the sentence is to obtain resources for the panopticons.

Players will engage in different types of operations, including rescuing citizens, taking down oversized abductors, and capturing control systems. In all operations, teamwork is valued to obtain the best result.

As a remaster, this new version of Freedom Wars provides some new features, including a visual section with improved graphics and high-resolution textures. The game resolution and frame rate is as follows: 1080p at 60 FPS on PS4; 2160p and 60 FPS on PS5 and PC; and 1080p and 30 FPS on Nintendo Switch. Battle design has also been improved with new features such as increased movement speed and the ability to cancel actions with the spine. Likewise, the controls have been renewed and can now be customized.

For its part, the weapon creation and upgrade system now treats modules as independent objects that can be attached or detached at will. Additionally, module synthesis can be used to enhance modules. This system, which aims for each player to find and develop their own fighting style, becomes more efficient as help is received from citizens who have rescued themselves. Regarding the cooperative online mode, it adds casual games and a function to customize the rules of combat.
