Assassin's Creed Shadows has two playable characters, the Samurai Yasuke and the Shinobi Naoe, with a different combat style, so each one has their own mastery trees linked to the weapons and their corresponding archetype. Each tree allows to improve and expand the skills learning new combos, which increases the effectiveness of the movements and opens the door to be more versatile in combat. In the case of Yasuke, he invests points in improving his training as Samurai to add new combat options such as changing weapons in the middle of a confrontation, while Naoe uses his points to unlock new ways of using stealth and killing enemies.
The objective of these mastery trees is, according to Ubisoft Quebec, giving players the freedom to devote themselves to a weapon, game style or specific archetype. «The points you invest in a master's tree also unlock additional bonuses for that weapon or archetype, further reinforcing its progress,» adds the study. To win Master's Points, the character of the character should be uploaded as the game is advanced (completing missions, activities …), but they can also win by defeating unique enemies. There is the option to reestablish points at any time.
Naoe and Yasuke share their progression, so both gain level, experience, mastery and knowledge points, which ensures that neither of them is left behind.
Additionally, each weapon has two skill slots in which active skills can be assigned that have been unlocked. Once unlocked, the ability of a weapon can be improved. For their part, Samurai and Shinobi trees have unique skills, but you can only equip one at the same time. Unlocking some skills and skills is required to achieve a certain range of knowledge, while the most advanced may also demand to complete certain actions. Knowledge is obtained by completing non-violent activities (Kuji-Kiri meditation, learning katas …).
The launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows is scheduled for March 20 in PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
